Remote access

One install can serve your phone or another computer on your home network. Settings → Remote Access holds the network settings and the connection history. Set an app-lock PIN first: without one, anyone on the network can use your Assistant.

Open Assistant to your network#

The Assistant card has a switch. While it is on, select the Network and the Port:

The default port is 5120. The card lists the address to open on the other device, for example http://192.168.1.20:5120. Open it in the browser of your phone and add it to the home screen. With the app lock on, the phone asks for the PIN.

A change applies at once. When the port is taken or the network is gone, the card shows the reason and keeps your choice. Switch the card off to close the network again; the desktop window is not affected.

App lock (PIN)#

Settings → General → App lock sets a PIN of exactly 6 digits. It applies on this computer and on every device that connects.

• The lock screen asks for the PIN when you open Assistant. File → Lock Assistant locks it at once.
• Five wrong PINs in five minutes block further tries for a while, on every device.
• Setting or changing the PIN ends every other session. A phone that was connected must enter the new PIN.
• A session lasts seven days and is renewed on use.

Connection history#

The Connection history card lists every device that connected from the network: its address, name, browser and operating system, whether it entered the PIN, how many requests it made, when it was first and last seen, and how the session ended (logged out, PIN changed, expired, wrong PIN, idle). The desktop window itself is not listed. Only the desktop window can see this list.

Built-in llama.cpp on the network#

The Built-in llama.cpp card has the same switch, network and port (default 9100) for the model runner. Other programs and devices can then use it as an OpenAI-compatible server. It has no password. Use it only on a network you trust. The card is shown while the built-in engine is on.
